The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) is offering an insurance-like benefit to help cover mental health and substance use treatment for NYC residents affected by 9/11. The NYC 9/11 Benefit Program for Mental Health and Substance Use provides:
Sometimes it takes a while to recognize your symptoms, and you might not connect them to 9/11. If you've been anxious, depressed, having family problems or using more drugs or alcohol since 9/11, there could be a connection. Anyone who has trouble eating, sleeping, concentrating or relating to others may need help. If you're a New York City resident, and you’ve suffered these symptoms since 9/11, consider talking to someone. We can help. Call (877) 737-1164 (1-877-SEP11MH). The World Trade Center (WTC) Centers of Excellence also offer free physical and mental health care to people affected by 9/11. The WTC Centers of Excellence have treated thousands of people with 9/11-related health issues. For an overview of the NYC 9/11 Benefit Program please

SURVEY
for 9/11 Dissertation Study
To All 9/11 Responders: 9/11 is the most important case for emergency management literature. Many research reports have been issued on response and recovery operations in 9/11. Although many aspects of emergency management were covered, importance of informal relationships were not carefully represented in those studies. This is a request for your participation in a dissertation research study from Orlando-UCF. Your participation will help to improve the Emergency Management responses in the future. 9/11 first responders who served with the FDNY, NYPD, DCC, American Red Cross, FBI, FEMA or US Military can participate in the study. I am seeking first responders who either worked at Ground Zero or worked for any of these agencies at the time of the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks. The survey has 25 questions, will take ten minutes to complete and can be accessed at this link: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s/91812/unitedstates Your privacy is guarded by UCF. No personal information is obtained via surveys. The results will not be made public. Please feel free to contact me at: bahadir@mail.ucf.edu if you have any questions. Thanking you in advance for your interest and participation. Bahadir Sahin, MA PhD Candidate at Public Affairs Department University of Central Florida |
